2013: College of the Redwoods Summer Workshop: Introduction to Parquetry
In June 2013 I will be presenting a week long class in parquetry:
Veneered surfaces can be made to present an eye-catching impression through the use of parquetry, the geometric arrangement of shaped elements. Participants in this class will be guided through all the steps necessary in the creation of a parquetry panel.
Topics to be covered through lecture and demonstration include substrate preparation, stock selection, pattern design, re-sawing, working with veneer stock, and veneer pressing. Several prepared patterns will be provided, allowing students to have the time to complete a panel during the course.
